Equipment

  • Medium mixing bowl
  • Jar or container with a lid
  • Spoon for mixing and serving

Ingredients

For the Oats

  • 1 cup rolled oats (90g)
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (250ml)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional, adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Tiramisu Flavor

  • 2 tablespoons strong brewed coffee or espresso cooled
  • 2 tablespoons mascarpone cheese (or Greek yogurt for a lighter option)
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • Pinch salt

For Toppings

  • Grated dark chocolate or cocoa powder
  • Sprinkling of coffee beans or chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Combine the Oats

  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, almond milk, chia seeds, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Stir together until well mixed. The oats will absorb the liquid and expand overnight, creating a hearty base.
  • Tip: For extra creaminess, consider using whole milk or your favorite dairy alternative.

Step 2: Add the Tiramisu Flavor

  • In a separate bowl, mix the mascarpone cheese, cooled coffee or espresso, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt until smooth. This rich mixture will give your oats that irresistible tiramisu taste.
  • Tip: If you prefer a lighter version, Greek yogurt can work beautifully in place of mascarpone.

Step 3: Layer and Refrigerate

  • In a jar or container, start with a layer of the oats, then swirl in a layer of the tiramisu mixture. Repeat the layering until you run out of ingredients. Seal the container and place it in the refrigerator overnight.
  • Tip: Give the container a gentle shake before digging in to mix the flavors slightly.

Notes

Pro tips: Use cold brew coffee for a smoother taste and less acidity. For an extra kick, add a splash of coffee liqueur to the mixture (1 tablespoon) for added depth. Enjoy them in the morning, or indulge as an afternoon snack or dessert. Toppings like crushed biscuits or granola can add delightful texture. Adjust sweetness to your preference — sometimes you may not need the maple syrup!
