  • Strainer
  • Muddler
  • Glasses for serving

Ingredients

For the Base

  • 4 oz tequila (preferably blanco)
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz agave syrup

For the Garnish

  • 2-3 slices jalapeño (adjust for spice level)
  • Fresh cilantro sprigs
  • Lime wedges

For the Spicy Rim (optional)

  • 1 tbsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp chili powder

Instructions

Prepare the Glass

  • Mix sea salt with chili powder and rub a lime wedge around the rim of your glass before dipping it into the spice mix for even coverage.

Muddle the Jalapeño

  • In a shaker, add jalapeño slices and muddle gently. This releases the spicy essence while ensuring it’s not overwhelmingly hot.

Add the Liquid Ingredients

  • Pour in the tequila, fresh lime juice, and agave syrup.
  • Adjust the amount of agave syrup based on your personal sweetness preference.

Shake It Up

  • Fill the shaker with ice and give it a vigorous shake for about 15 seconds. You want everything well-combined and chilled.

Strain and Serve

  • Strain the mixture into your prepared glass filled with ice. Garnish with fresh cilantro and a lime wedge.

- For a smoky twist, try using mezcal instead of tequila.
- Experiment with other garnishes like cucumber or even a spicy rim for added flavor.
