Ingredients
  

For the Chicken

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 lime juice of

For the Toppings

  • 8 corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro chopped
  • 1 avocado sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheese cheddar or Mexican blend
  • Sour cream or Greek yogurt for drizzling
  • Fresh lime wedges for serving

Instructions
 

Prepare the Chicken

  • In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and lime juice. Add the chicken breasts and coat them evenly. Allow marinating for at least 15 minutes for the flavors to infuse.
  • Tip: Letting the chicken marinate longer enhances the flavor, but if you're short on time, even 15 minutes will do wonders.

Cook the Chicken

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken and cook for approximately 6-7 minutes per side, or until cooked through and no longer pink in the center. Transfer to a cutting board and let rest for a few minutes.

Warm the Tortillas

  • In the same skillet, quickly warm the tortillas one at a time for about 30 seconds per side until they are pliable and slightly toasted.
  • Tip: Wrap warmed tortillas in a clean kitchen towel to keep them warm while you finish cooking.

Assemble the Tacos

  • Slice the cooked chicken into strips. On each tortilla, layer the chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, cilantro, avocado, and cheese. Drizzle with sour cream or yogurt and serve with lime wedges.
