Equipment

  • Grill or grill pan, grill basket or skewers, mixing bowl, tongs, basting brush

Ingredients

For the Marinade

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch red pepper flakes optional

For the Shrimps

  • 1 1/2 pounds large shrimp peeled and deveined (tails on)
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade

  • In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic, parsley, basil, lemon juice, zest, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Let rest 10 minutes.

Marinate the Shrimps

  • Add shrimp to the marinade. Toss well. Cover and refrigerate for 20–30 minutes.

Preheat the Grill

  • Heat grill to medium-high. If using a grill basket, place it on now. Brush with oil.

Grill the Shrimps

  • Skewer shrimp or place in grill basket. Grill 2–3 minutes per side until opaque and lightly charred.

Serve

  • Transfer to a plate, squeeze lemon juice on top, and garnish with herbs. Serve immediately.

Notes

Fresh herbs are key—don’t substitute dried.
Overcooking makes shrimp tough—watch closely.
For extra depth, add smoked paprika or a dash of butter to the marinade.
